Yaa Akyaa

Asantehemaa (queen-mother) of Asante from the 1880s and a dominant force at the late-19th-century Kumasi court; mother of Asantehene Prempeh I, with whom she was deposed and exiled by the British to the Seychelles. Materialized as the attested mother in the Prempeh-I line.
