Folad
Amis · deity · Amis traditional religion; continuing · Recorded classification
Folad, the moon, stands beside the sun and the sky god among the celestial kawas of the Amis. As the marker of the lunar month it regulated the agricultural and ceremonial calendar of a people whose ritual year turned on the sowing and reaping of millet and rice. In the enumerations of the traditional pantheon the moon god is paired with the sun as one of the two great luminaries of the upper world.
