Laladay

Laladay is the water deity of the Amis, presiding over the rivers and fresh waters of the homeland. Amis cosmology distinguished many localized spirits of place, and among the spirits of the earth were reckoned river, land and sea powers; Laladay personifies the fresh waters on which riverine fishing and irrigation depended.
