Heorrenda
Anglo Saxon · mortal · heroic age · Recorded classification
A CHARACTER WHOSE ENTIRE ATTESTATION IS SOMEBODY ELSE'S COMPLAINT ABOUT HIM. Tolkien, in his lectures, jokingly gave the name of Heorrenda to the anonymous author of Beowulf; the record notes that this is a modern conceit and asserts nothing from it.
