Son of Weohstan; a Waegmunding and thus kinsman of Beowulf (whose father Ecgtheow was also a Waegmunding). The one retainer who did not flee the dragon but fought at Beowulf's side, received his dying words, and became his heir and the bearer of the Geats' bleak future.
