Bel

NO EDGE TO mesopotamian_marduk OR TO ANY MESOPOTAMIAN RECORD, though 'Bel' is Marduk's title and this corpus holds him. Khorenatsi's Bel is a person in an Armenian story; the Akkadian bēlu is where the name came from, and that belongs in the etymology. The identification with Nimrod is likewise recorded as an identification the tradition makes and not as a second record.
