Tork Angegh
Armenian · deity · pantheon era · deity
A GOD WHO IS ALSO AN ARTIST, and the detail is the whole record: he tears the face off a cliff and then draws on it with his nails. The sources say he is taken to be TWO deities run together — the Anatolian Tarku and a god of the province of Angegh — and this batch ingests ONE record, because one name with one biography is what the tradition has; the compound reading is on the etymology as a reading. The onward comparison to Thor and Týr is noted in the sources as conceivable and is not carried onto this record at all.
