Son and named successor of the demigod Ryangombe in the Banyaruanda Kubandwa tradition. When Ryangombe was slain by a buffalo arranged by an unwed woman, Binego avenged him by killing the buffalo-woman and her child. Ryangombe named Binego his successor among the imandwa at the moment of death; he joins his apotheosed father among the imandwa-spirits on the volcano.
