Muntu

Banyaruanda · quartigod · mythic prehistoric · quartigod

Muntu, son of Kigwa, ancestor of the Ibimanuka celestial line. Named in the batch prose of banyaruanda_nkuba and banyaruanda_gihanga ('Nkuba > Kigwa > Muntu > ... > Gihanga'); the genealogy interposes several further named ancestors (Kimanuka, Kijuru, Kobo, Merano, Randa, Gisa, Kizira, Kazi) between Muntu and Gihanga which are recorded as a bare king-list and are not individuated here. Demigod as a divinely-descended ancestor.
