Chilufya Mulenga is the daughter of Mukulumpe and Mumbi Mukasa in the Bemba origin charter. After the deaths of Chiti and Nkole, succession passed to her young son, and Bemba tradition treats this episode as the charter for the matrilineal inheritance of the Chitimukuluship within the crocodile clan, a system analysed at length by Audrey Richards.
