Raja Pantha is repeatedly named in ethnographic literature as the chief deity worshipped by the Bhils. T. B. Naik's classic monograph identifies him as a major god of the tribe and names the goddess Dev Mogra as his wife; the two are venerated together at the Devmogra sanctuary in the Satpura hills of southern Gujarat and Maharashtra, where Bhil and related communities gather for an annual fair. The Encyclopedia of World Cultures notes that among the many deities the Bhils honour, Raja Pantha is worshipped chiefly, marking him as the effective head of the living Bhil pantheon.
