The second of the three great heroes of the Ibalong epic of the Bicol region, between Baltog (the first) and Bantong (the slayer of Rabot). Cleared Ibalong of its monsters and instituted laws, agriculture, the plow, the boat, and writing — the Bicolano culture-bringer. His campaign against and eventual love-alliance with the half-serpent demigoddess Oryol is the central narrative of the middle Ibalong cycle.
