Tunnanu

Tunnanu is the word the Hebrew Bible keeps using and the King James Version keeps translating as 'whale' or 'dragon' depending on the verse. At Ugarit he is one of the things Anat has killed, listed in the speech where she recites her victories — Yam, the fugitive serpent, the seven-headed one — and the list is close enough to Psalm 74 that the psalm reads as the same catalogue with a different god's name at the top. Whether Tunnanu and Lotan are two monsters or one monster twice named is not settled; both are recorded, because the text names both.
