Bai Wuchang

Chinese · deity · mythic · deity

An abstract noun in a uniform. Wuchang is the Buddhist doctrine that nothing lasts, and Chinese folk religion turned it into two men in black and white who come to the door with a warrant. The white one is conventionally the taller, wears a hat reading 'fortune at first sight', and is the one people hope for.
