A dated founding for a religion that is usually treated as having none. 142 CE, Mount Heming, a specific text handed over and a specific claim made — that the old gods had been dismissed and a new administration installed. The movement he began taxed its members five pecks of rice, ran a small state in Sichuan, and passed its office down a family line that still holds it. The registry held a great deal of Daoist material and not the man who organised it.
