Spirit-class direction-Being (classed as deity), one of the vaʼirgьt. Bogoras records Dawn, Mid-day, Zenith and the Pole-Star as the chief 'Beings' (vaʼirgьt) to whom sacrifices go; Dawn is pre-eminent. The romanization Tneskyn follows Bogoras's Chukchi direction-terms for the sunrise quarter.
