Adyghe ⟨Тхьэ⟩ Tḥə ('god') with augmentative ⟨-шхуэ⟩ -šxwə ('great') = 'Great God'. Distinct from the Ossetian Nart pantheon. The high god is largely a deus otiosus in the Nart cycle, with the heroes' deeds carried by smiths and culture-heroes.
