GODAN IS AN ALIAS AND NOT A SECOND RECORD. The Origo's Godan is this god under a Lombard spelling, and the Lombard episode is on this record's lifecycle. Lane 20 found the corpus holding Väinämöinen twice under two keys and said that duplicating a figure to record a second attestation makes the registry worse; this is that decision taken in advance, inside one tradition key, where the temptation is strongest. NO CROSS-TRADITION EDGE to anglosaxon_woden or norse_odin: three traditions, three attestation-sets, three records, and a shared name is a fact about the languages.
