Ancestor of the Sangen Heroic Beings

Maharaja Sangen is the second of the three primordial brothers of Ngaju Dayak mythology. Like Maharaja Sangiang he remained immortal, becoming the ancestor of the sangen, the exemplary heroes of the primeval sacred epoch whose deeds are recounted in the ritual chant language of the priests.
