Buchis

Buchis is Montu on four legs at Armant. His cult is the latest of the three great bull cults to become elaborate — from the Thirtieth Dynasty, when Egypt was running out of native dynasties — and it lasted into the Roman period, with each bull's dates carved on a stela in the Bucheion. Those stelae are useful beyond the cult: they are dated by reign, so the bulls end up being a chronology for the last stretch of Egyptian religion, right down to the last one.
