Heh
Egyptian · deity · primordial · deity
Heh is the only member of the Ogdoad most people have seen. The kneeling man holding a notched palm rib in each hand is on the back of Tutankhamun's chairs and on a great deal of royal jewellery, and what it says is 'millions of years' — the palm rib being the actual object a scribe notched to count them. In the Hermopolitan system he and Hauhet are the endlessness of space; in the decorative use he is the endlessness of a reign. Both readings are of the same word, which is simply the Egyptian for a million.
