Historical chancellor and architect of Djoser (3rd Dynasty), deified in the Late Period as Son of Ptah. Built the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. Cult center at Philae. Syncretized with Asclepius in Greek and Ptolemaic tradition; cross-listed in Greek as Imouthes. One of only a handful of historical Egyptian commoners to receive full deification.
