Seshat

Seshat does the paperwork of the cosmos. She is writing, arithmetic, measurement and architecture at once — which is one office in a civilisation where laying out a building, counting the harvest and recording a reign are the same skill — and her job in the ritual calendar is the foundation ceremony: she and the king hold the two ends of a cord and fix the axis of a new temple by sighting on the stars. She has no temple of her own, only everyone else's. She also writes the king's years on the notched palm rib, which is the same instrument Heh holds, and the registry held Thoth without her.
