Tayt

Egyptian · deity · mythic · deity

Tayt is linen, and linen in Egypt is not a minor material. It clothes everyone, it curtains the shrine that holds the god, it is paid out as wages and stored as wealth, and at the end of a life several hundred square metres of it are wound round the body that has been dried out for the purpose. A goddess of weaving in that economy is a goddess of the last thing that touches you.
