Ba is the personified Thunder, one of the beings that dwell in the upper celestial world (bajía) together with the high god Karagabí. In Emberá thought thunder is not merely a natural event but a distinct sky-being whose voice belongs to the ordered upper cosmos, set above the earthly world of living people and the watery world below.
