Etruscan guardian-demon of the underworld, his name borrowed from the Greek ferryman Charon but his form Etruscan: blue-fleshed, bestial, wielding a hammer to seal death's door. Often appears in multiples (the Charontes) and paired with Vanth in the painted tombs.
