Finnish water-goddess, mistress of lakes and sea, consort of Ahti; the pair dwell at the bottom of the sea in Ahtola. Named already in Ganander Mythologia Fennica (1789) and recurrent in Kalevala-metre fishing-charms (the vesiluvut). Authored as the attested but previously unregistered spouse of the corpus figure finnish_ahti, whose record names her repeatedly as his consort.
