Solar and harvest deity, the most intimately worshipped Garo god in agricultural life. 'Saljong' (sal = sun) ~ the sun itself; 'Misi Saljong' couples him with Misi, the rice/crop power. Latin (Roman) script with Bengali transliteration noted. Playfair 1909 documents Wangala.
