Mortal king of Tiryns, twin brother of Acrisius and son of Abas; their womb-strife and the partition of the Argolid found the twin-kingdoms of Argos and Tiryns. Builder of the Cyclopean walls of Tiryns, host of Bellerophon, and father of the maddened Proetides. Father Abas and wife Stheneboea are noted in prose (not registered).
