Katahha, from the Hattic word for 'queen', is the name or title of a Hattian tutelary goddess, most prominently the head of the pantheon of the central Anatolian town of Ankuwa; goddesses bearing the same name were worshipped at Katapa and other nearby settlements. In cuneiform her name is frequently concealed behind the Sumerographic writing dMUNUS.LUGAL, 'the divine Queen'. The Queens of Ankuwa and Katapa appear among the divine witnesses of Hittite state treaties, and her cult at Ankuwa flourished into the imperial period. Her possible connection to the Storm-god of Zippalanda, whether as his mother or as his wife, remains debated in current scholarship.
