He is also the Pandavas' maternal uncle — Madri, whom the corpus holds, is his sister — and the record does not say so, because the treatment consulted gives the kingship, the manipulation and the charioteering and not the kinship. That is a one-citation gap and a strong candidate for the third Hindu pass: it would connect the Kaurava order of battle to the Pandava household directly.
