That asymmetry is this lane in miniature. Valmiki's own place inside the story — sheltering the exiled Sita, raising Lava and Kusha — is not recorded here, because Lava and Kusha are BLOCKED census rows and a record should not narrate an episode whose other parties the registry does not hold.
