Cavillaca

Inca · numen · mythic · numen

Maiden huaca of the Huarochiri cycle, sought by all the huacas, who is made to conceive by Cuniraya Viracocha through a transformed lucuma fruit and, on discovering the deceit, flees to the sea and turns to stone. Classed as numen (a fully-divine huaca outside the worshipped imperial pantheon). Named in the prose of Cuniraya Viracocha as the maiden Cavillaca whom he courts. The identity of her son with the storm-god Pariacaca is left unstated and ambiguous in the manuscript, so no maternity edge to Pariacaca is asserted here.
