King of Ulaid at Emain Macha through the Ulster Cycle; brother of Deichtire and so maternal uncle of Cú Chulainn. His treacherous breaking of the safe-conduct of the Sons of Uisliu drove Fergus mac Róich and other warriors into exile to Connacht — a defection that shapes the Táin. Died when the embedded brain-ball of Mes Gegra burst as he raged at news of Christ's death. Mortal-tier.
