Oscar
Irish · quartigod · fenian cycle · quartigod
Three generations — Fionn, Oisín, Oscar — go into the corpus together with this batch, and the corpus held none of them. The name travelled: Macpherson took it into Ossian, Napoleon liked the poems, and it reached the Swedish royal house and from there most of Europe, which is why it is a common given name today. That is a census note and not a record claim.
