Toyouke-Ōmikami

Ise has two shrines and the registry held the deity of one of them. The Outer Shrine is Toyouke's, it is larger in daily practice than the Inner, and visitors are expected to go to it first — because the sun goddess is fed before she is addressed. Her job is literally catering, performed twice a day without interruption since the fifth century, and it is the oldest continuously performed ritual in Japan.
