SET OVER THE SPIRITS WHO SIN IN THE SPIRIT — a jurisdiction over incorporeal wrongdoing, distinct from Raguel's over the luminaries and Uriel's over Tartarus. The seven are a division of labour, and the corpus held none of them.

They are depicted as holy watchers assigned to maintain cosmic order, judge the wicked and mediate between heaven and earth.
