Savar, called the Heavy-Armed, is one of the leading paladins in Jangar's retinue. Marked by immense physical strength and armed with a massive battle-axe, he is the hero of one of the epic's celebrated cantos, in which he rides out and overthrows the enemy Kilgan Khan. He belongs to the inner circle of twelve great warriors who sit about Jangar's throne and defend the land of Bumba.
