Siki is the legendary hunter-founder of Rhumsiki, one of the best-known Kapsiki villages of the Cameroonian plateau. In the founding tradition his home place was afflicted by overpopulation and famine, so he went into exile in search of new land; discovering a welcoming site, he settled there and was soon joined by other hunters and their families. The village that grew on the spot carries his name, Rhumsiki being read as Rhu-Siki, 'the mountain of Siki.'
