Mountain tutelary deity ('Lei' = deity, contracted from Blei; 'Shyllong' the peak). He is the chief among the Khasi U Ryngkew/U Basa land-guardian gods. The variant U Blei Shyllong and the patriline of three daughters (one being Ka Pah Syntiew) belong to the Shillong-Peak legend cycle. Khasi Roman orthography.
