Kilu is one of only two named members of the younger generation of Big-Raven's kin in Koryak oral literature (the other being Illa). Usually described as a niece of the Raven, she takes part in the adventures of the creator's household. In the recurring pattern of cousin-marriage that organizes the tales, Kilu is paired with Ememqut, Big-Raven's eldest son, just as Illa is paired with Big-Raven's daughter Yiniaaneut. A variant narrative instead makes Kilu the daughter of the creator Tenanto'mwan, an aspect of Big-Raven himself.
