Maena'adi is remembered as a Kwaio ritual officiant, one of the senior men who invoke and sacrifice to the adalo on behalf of a descent group. Such priests keep the shrine, present consecrated pigs, and mediate between the living and their ancestral spirits, and at death they in turn become adalo. Detail on individual officiants in the published record is sparse, and sources preserve little beyond the office itself.
