Äkʼinchob

Äkʼinchob is the Lacandon guardian of maize and the milpa (cornfield), who makes the crop grow and ripen and protects the cultivators. He is reckoned a son-in-law of Hachäkyum, having married one of the high god's daughters, and mediates between the farming Lacandon and the creator. His name is also given as Kʼin Chob.
