Archan is the Lezgin goddess who guards the family hearth. She belongs to the class of benevolent deities in the pantheon and presides over the household, its fire and its well-being, complementing the fire-god Alpan who was thought to lodge in the same hearth. She is chiefly known from ethnographic reconstructions of the pre-Islamic Lezgin pantheon rather than from a developed narrative cycle.
