Name leads with the English phrase 'the Hound-God'; attested votive form Quangeio (dative). Native theonym from *kuwon- ('dog'). The traveller/psychopomp characterisation is a scholarly inference from the canine root, not from any surviving myth or iconography. Known only from epigraphy.
