Hammu is a named male jinn of Moroccan folk belief, one of the many spirits addressed with the human name-form Hammu (a diminutive of Muḥammad). In several Hamadsha and jinn-cult accounts he is paired with Aïcha Qandisha as her male counterpart or consort, and he shares in the general repertoire of jinn affliction: the sudden 'blow' that paralyses or maddens those who transgress against the invisible people by pouring hot water, blood or salt onto open ground at night. His figure is less elaborated in the ethnographic record than Aïcha's, and reports of his role vary from region to region.
