Makalidung is the greatest of the diwata among the Agusan Manobo as recorded in Garvan's ethnography. He is the maker who set the earth upon its supporting posts and is invoked at the summit of the pantheon of guardian and nature deities. His name is also given as Makalindung, and his cosmic architecture of world-pillars underlies the Manobo explanation of the earth's stability.
