Taphagan is the Manobo deity of the harvest, guardian of the reaped grain and of the rice kept in the granary. Where Ibabasuk watches over the growing field, Taphagan governs its ingathering and safekeeping, and is honoured at harvest so that the store may not fail. She completes the pair of agricultural powers within the Agusan Manobo pantheon set down in Garvan's ethnography.
