K'inich Kan Bahlam II

This is the king who wrote the theology. The Cross Group is not decoration and not piety in the ordinary sense: it is a legal brief in stone, arguing that the Palenque dynasty's irregular descent matches the pattern of the gods' own, and it is why the Palenque Triad is in this batch at all. He is also the reason the corpus can now carry GI, GII and GIII with a person attached to them.
