Lady Sak K'uk'

The Palenque succession went through a woman twice in three generations, and the inscriptions handle it by putting her name and a god's name in the same slot — Muwaan Mat is a deity of the Palenque creation account and also her. Whether that is a throne-name, a posthumous identification or an epigraphic sleight of hand is argued; what is not argued is that Pakal's claim was his mother's and that his descendants knew it.
